Naples, anti-G7 marches: protesters pushed back to the port

Moments of tension at the procession against the G7 of Foreign Ministers, underway in Capri , between the police and the demonstrators who have been marching through the streets of Naples since this morning.

The activists reached the Immacolatella pier with the intention of “taking the ferry to Capri” approaching the police in riot gear. In front of the procession there was a series of watermelon-shaped inflatable boats. When the protesters approached the officers they were pushed back with the use of shields and truncheons.

When protesters attempted to reach the embarkation points, scuffles broke out, but the situation quickly returned to normal. The march 'Stop the G7 of genocide' started this morning from Piazza Garibaldi, banners for Palestine were also displayed, calling for a ceasefire in the Middle East.

At the head of the procession were also rubber donuts representing watermelons.
