Osimhen: “Napoli fans are extraordinary and overwhelming, they make the team what it is”

“I define myself as determined”.So Victor osimhen, striker of Napoli, who reflected on his footballing journey to Betsson Sport.

The past season was a bitter one for Napoli, but Osimhen never lost his determination. “I scored 15 goals in 28 games, despite two spells of absence”, reveals. “First due to injury, then to represent my national team at the Africa Cup of Nations.” Speaking of the fans Napoli's Osimhen doesn't spare praise: “They are extraordinary”, he says with conviction.

“When I have to find a word to describe them I am speechless because they are absolutely overwhelming. It is electrifying, such a big city that takes football so seriously and the way the fans support the team is truly unbelievable.” The Nigerian player also reveals his pre-match ritual: “First of all I say my prayers”, he claims.

“Because I am very religious, and I listen to some songs that motivate me.

Then, I think back to the previous match, all the mistakes I made so I can correct them. If I don't score I still try to help the team, I try to defend, I try to win and fight for them on the pitch."

When asked about the most significant moment of his career, Osimhen recalled his move to Charleroi in Belgium. “That was really the moment that made me become the Victor Osimhen you see now.”, reveals. “Before, when I moved to Wolfsburg, I really wanted to start playing, but also to learn because I moved as a young striker and I needed time to develop into the player and man I wanted to become.”
