A new era for the Mercatello Park a Salerno kicked off this morning with its long-awaited reopening.
After months of intense work, the park, which has undergone major renovation, modernization and extraordinary maintenance, has finally reopened its doors to the public.The funds for this ambitious project were generously provided by the Campania Region, with a total investment of five million euros. The Municipality of Salerno coordinated the execution of the works, which led to a significant transformation of the area.
The mayor of Salerno, Vincenzo Napoli, expressed his satisfaction for this important milestone: “We were waiting for this day - he has declared - We are giving back to the city the Mercatello park, which is a splendid work. We have received significant funding from the Campania Region, which has allocated over five million euros for the restoration and redevelopment of the structure.”
In addition to the Parco del Mercatello, the Giardino della Minerva will soon reopen to the public, also undergoing redevelopment and expansion works. These efforts reflect the commitment of local authorities to improve and enhance the city's green spaces, making them more welcoming and usable for citizens.
The “new” Mercatello Park offers a variety of attractions for all tastes: from well-kept lawns to enchanting rose gardens, from tree-lined avenues to spaces dedicated to entertainment and fitness. A playroom for children, a show and events area and a fitness area are just some of the new features that visitors will be able to appreciate inside this splendid park.
