The Gaiola Underwater Park and the Special Conservation Area IT8030041 "Gaiola and Nisida Seabed" of the Natura 2000 Network represent today the area of greatest environmental, archaeological, and landscape value along the entire coastal strip of the City of Naples. Indeed, it is the last "Blue Lung" on which the very survival and regeneration of our sea depends.

Defending this last Paradise of the sea of Naples is a duty for all of us. From this awareness, the 16 environmental associations gathered in the Coordination for the protection of the sea "Chi tene 'o Mare" with the help of the musician Maurizio Capone, always committed to environmental issues, want to shine a light on the lethal risks that loom over this fundamental treasure chest of biodiversity and history of our City.

Hence, the idea of organizing the event Let's defend paradise! on April 28, 2024 from 10:00 to 17:00, a real celebration of the sea and for the sea, at the Parco Sommerso di Gaiola.

There will be gazebos of the CTM Associations that will touch on the various aspects of sea protection with exhibits and educational-recreational activities.

At 12:00, there will be the world preview presentation of the documentary video “Let’s defend Paradise”.

Starting at 15:00 pm, Maurizio Capone's performance "Io mi Rifiuto" will follow: a cry against marine pollution with a large collective jam session where all those present will be involved in playing marine waste in a large choral percussion concert.

A small exhibition of the Museum of Damage and the Caretta Crime Scene will also be set up, curated by the Domizia Association.
