During the Easter holidays, the city of Salerno witnessed an intensification of security checks, thanks to an operation coordinated by the State Police. With the aim of ensuring public tranquility and preventing crime during a period of high density of citizens and tourists, the police deployed patrols in strategic points of the city, including places of worship, the port area, train stations and various public establishments.
The operation, which took place from the beginning of the Easter weekend until Easter Monday, saw the use of joint forces that operated with a focus on both the city center and the peripheral areas, extending their attention also to the main centers of the province of Salerno.
During this security initiative, the State Police carried out checks on 515 people, including 76 individuals with police records and 14 non-EU citizens. In addition, 6 public establishments and 210 vehicles were inspected, demonstrating the wide scope of the operations carried out.
The balance of the control activity has led to concrete results, with four people placed under house arrest. This intervention represents a significant commitment by the authorities to maintain a high level of public safety, especially during holidays that see an increase in social activities and the presence of visitors in the city.
