The video, created with the contributions of the PNRR – TOCC Digital Transition Cultural and Creative Organizations, will be visible online on the YouTube channel of D'Uva and the International School of Comics Florence from Sunday 28 April: www.youtube.com/@duv and www.youtube.com/@scuolacomicsfirenze

SAN GENNARO LO SA tells the adventurous story of Giuseppe Navarra, better known as the king of Poggioreale, who in 1947, during the world conflict, brought back to Naples the Treasure of San Gennaro which had been kept safe in the Vatican in three sealed chests.
Giuseppe Navarra was a man of humble origins who had made his fortune by dedicating himself to the black market, nicknamed the king of Poggioreale for his generosity and courage in helping his neighbors in need.
On March 5 of that year, accompanied by Prince Stefano Colonna di Paliano, member of the Deputation of the Treasure of San Gennaro, he left in great secrecy with a black car, which is said to have belonged to Mussolini, towards Rome, to go and recover the treasure. After an adventurous journey, the two managed to bring back to the Patron Saint the Treasure that today can be admired in all its splendor in the Museum dedicated to him in via Duomo.
An extraordinary story that thanks to the animation work of the Comics school of Florence has become an animated short. Starting from the song of Bennato and Fresa, with the unmistakable voice of Bennato himself accompanied on alto sax by Marco Zurzolo, and through the study of the history of the Treasure, the storyboard was drawn, from which the entire project was born scene by scene.
Continuing with the creation of the character design for the various characters, the choice of the most representative designs up to the color script, with the choice of lights and colors for each scene based on the emotion, we arrived at the animation, coloring and editing of the final video of 3 minutes and 30.
The short SAN GENNARO LO SA is a new way to narrate and explore the rich imagery of the history of the Patron Saint, entrusting the universal language of animation, drawing and music with the task of transmitting the life and works of San Gennaro to an increasingly wider and younger audience.
On the occasion of Comicon, the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro will offer a discounted rate of 6 euros to visit the Museum of the Patron Saint (independent visit with audio guide).
