The reconstruction of the clash
Yesterday noon, a violent attack with gunshots and baseball bats shocked Piazza Castello, in the center of Afragola. Five people were injured, three by gunshots (one to the leg and the most serious to the abdomen) and two by beatings.
The scene, which occurred shortly after Sunday Mass, was captured by three municipal video surveillance cameras. The images allowed investigators to identify those responsible and reconstruct the dynamics of the events.
The attack began with a beating with bare hands and baseball bats (provided by the arrested woman). Then, a gun appeared and several shots were fired, wounding three people: two of the opposing family (still in hospital, one awaiting intervention to extract a bullet) and a relative of the attackers who was trying to calm things down (discharged last night).
The episode has caused great alarm and concern in the community of Afragola. The State Police, with the support of the Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, will continue to investigate to shed light on the facts and bring those responsible to justice.
“All institutions must commit to stopping this violent drift that is increasingly transforming the streets of the territory into Wild West scenarios where not only criminals who compete for power and territory risk their lives but also and above all innocent people”, declared MP Borrelli.
