Meeting to optimize the taxi service The prefect of Napoli, Michele Di Bari, led a meeting at the Government Palace to discuss the problems related to taxi logistics at the Piazza Garibaldi railway station.
Present were the Councilor for Legality and Local Police of the Municipality of Naples, representatives of the police force and trade unions. During the meeting, the taxi drivers' representatives expressed the difficulties related to the current organization of taxis and the need to make changes to improve the service.
To optimize the service, an experimental reorganization of the taxi area has been agreed, which provides for the double queue of departing cars. This change aims to avoid long waits for passengers and to combat the work of illegal taxi drivers.
Furthermore, it was decided to strengthen surveillance and control services to prevent and suppress illegal activities in the area.
