An app that can promote the territory as a whole, through the proposal of the main points of historical, artistic and cultural interest but also of the offer in the food and wine, hospitality and commercial fields. This project, which is in the full implementation phase and which will be operational in a few months, was one of the main topics discussed at the Tourism Table, which met this morning in the Sala Giunta of the Municipality of Caserta.
At the meeting, chaired by the Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Events, Emiliano Casale, the Councilor for Culture also participated, Enzo Battarra, the City's Councillor for Tourist Welfare, Antonio De Lucia, the President of the Tourism Council Commission, Pasquale Antonucci, and the representatives of the Royal Palace, of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, of Confcommercio, Confindustria, Federalberghi.
The app is open, meaning all operators in the sectors of commerce, tourism, hospitality, catering, as well as those responsible for museums and/or cultural associations, will be able to insert useful content to create a real "showcase" for tourists interested in having a particularly stimulating stay experience.
The app uses innovative technologies thanks to which visitors will have the opportunity to access different sections: news and events, in which real-time news will be inserted; food and wine, with information and details on the excellent products of the territory; hospitality, which will present a list and the connection with the accommodation facilities, namely hotels, restaurants and agritourisms and with the local tourism promotion bodies and museums, with the aim of promoting the territory and encouraging a greater influx of tourists. This function will allow the app to communicate with the accommodation facilities.
Another topic at the center of the discussion was the tourist tax. Deputy Mayor Casale explained that all the technical steps have been completed and that in mid-June the resolution for the establishment of this measure will be approved by the City Council. In autumn, therefore, the tourist tax will be able to come into force, the amount of which will vary between €1,50 and €3 per night per person, depending on the category of the hotel or B&B. The proceeds will be used to create a dedicated fund, which will be used exclusively to carry out activities related to the tourist development of the city, which can support hospitality activities and have a positive impact on commercial activities.
Finally, Massimo Vecchione from the Lwr company spoke during the meeting, illustrating the events scheduled in Caserta next summer (at the Belvedere di San Leucio and in Piazza Carlo di Borbone), organized in partnership with the Municipality of Caserta.
“The app that we presented today at the Round Table – explained the Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Events, Emiliano Casale - represents an element of great importance to offer tourists all the necessary tools to enjoy a complete stay, which gives them the opportunity to visit the many beauties we have available and the commercial and hospitality activities. Soon, with the entry into force of the tourist tax, we will be able to invest significant sums to make the city even more attractive, which is preparing to experience an exceptional summer, with very high-quality events that will take place between the Belvedere di San Leucio and Piazza Carlo di Borbone. The Tourism Board is doing a great job. I thank all the participants for the active and constructive contribution they have been providing since day one”.
“We are certain – added the Councillor for Culture, Enzo Battarra - that in the coming months we will have a very significant increase in cultural tourist flows. The app, the creation of such prestigious events and the establishment of the tourist tax are all useful measures to optimize the tourist offer. Our artistic and cultural heritage and our food and wine excellence are strong points on which to focus to make Caserta a city with a strong tourist vocation”.
“New technologies – continued the City Councillor for Tourist Welfare, Antonio De Lucia - they are a fundamental support for promoting the territory and our artistic-cultural heritage. We are carrying out constant work, putting in place all the strategies to make our city even more welcoming”.
“We have stressed many times – declared the President of the Tourism Council Commission, Pasquale Antonucci - how great the tourism potential of our city is. It is important to underline the importance of having created a Tourism Table, which, in addition to the Municipal Administration, includes fundamental entities for tourism development. Thanks to this tool we will achieve increasingly important results in this crucial sector for the economy of the territory”.
