A 56 year old man was caught yesterday afternoon by the Carabinieri while he was using a recess in a small wall along Via Cave Alte in Casagiove, in the Caserta area, as a hiding place for drugs.
The man, an AR known to the police for his ties to the Casalesi clan, had parked his car with the engine running and deposited a plastic container containing nine doses of cocaine, all packaged in cellophane bags ready to be sold.
When he noticed the arrival of the carabinieri, he tried to escape by getting back into the car, but was stopped after a few meters. The military of the Casagiove Station recovered the drugs and carried out a personal search and a search of the vehicle.
The man was found in possession of two cell phones with their SIM cards, all seized by the Carabinieri. After the formal procedures, he was arrested and placed under house arrest at the disposal of the judicial authorities. He will have to answer for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
