As the students approach the time of entry to school, several patrols have been deployed as the safety of the students is a priority, so much so that the local police officers have started monitoring the vehicles. arzano with several seizures and sanctions.
The technique used by the drivers is to create as many places as possible for passengers by adding benches and chairs in an irregular manner. The watchful eye of the police officers coordinated by Commander Biagio Chiariello, during the identification activity, did not escape that inside one of the controlled shuttles, welded benches had been placed with an additional 6 seats in addition to the 9 passengers expected.
The children were forced to sit on makeshift benches installed in place of seats, inside the minibus and used illegally for school transport. This alteration of the vehicle's construction characteristics, with the installation of non-approved rear seats and lack of authorization, represent serious violations and therefore punished by the local with the application of a fine of 9 thousand euros and the concomitant seizure of the vehicle registration document.
The vehicle was also subjected to administrative detention. Other drivers checked, however, were caught driving with an expired license and therefore also in this case were punished with the application of fines under the Highway Code for 5 thousand euros and the related seizure of the vehicle.
An inspection activity that will surely be a source of relief for the many worried parents since they have school-age children, from kindergarten to high school, who use these private shuttles that mainly deal with the transport service dedicated to the journey home-school and vice versa. In the coming days the traffic police command will further intensify the controls.
A decision, that of using illegal private shuttles for students, puts at risk not only the safety of passengers exponentially but also pedestrians since many times the "improvised" managers are uninsured or even without a license.
