In the Sala dell'Ostrichina of the Real sito borbonico del Fusaro, in Bacoli, a meeting organized by the Campania Region, the Department of Civil Protection and the Municipality of Bacoli will be held on Monday 6 May at 15:30 pm. The event will see the participation of the highest authorities of the Civil Protection system, as well as experts in the sector, to discuss issues related to the phenomenon of bradyseism and volcanic safety.
The institutions will be represented by illustrious personalities, including the prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, the councilor for Security of the Campania Region, Mario Morcone, the councilor for Civil Protection of the Municipality of Naples, Edoardo Cosenza, the delegate of the mayor of the Metropolitan City of Naples and the mayor of Bacoli, Josi Gerardo Della Ragione. The meeting will focus on citizens' questions and concerns regarding bradyseism, volcanic risk and civil protection strategies.
To provide a comprehensive and in-depth overview of the issues under discussion, high-level scientific and technical experts will speak, including the Head of the Department of Civil Protection of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fabrizio Curcio, the Director General of Civil Protection of the Campania Region, Italo Giulivo, and representatives of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), such as the director of the Volcanoes Department, Francesca Bianco, and the director of the Vesuvius Observatory, Mauro Di Vito.
The main objective of this initiative is to provide the population with all the information necessary to understand and address the risk associated with bradyseism in the Campi Flegrei. The measures envisaged by the National Planning on bradyseism will be presented, and an update will be made on the implementation status of the decree and the current checks underway.
