He resold for €32 to a telephone shop the cell phone he had shortly before stolen from a 70-year-old woman from San Tammaro.
It happened yesterday (May 3). It was 09:30 when the victim, an elderly woman, arrived with her husband at the ASL headquarters, located in via Napoli in Santa Maria Capua Vetere, to renew the ticket exemption.
A young girl present there, having noticed the elderly woman's difficulty in filling out the form, offered to help her. Since a photocopy of her health card had to be attached to the form, the victim went to the nearby stationery store, leaving her purse in her husband's custody.
It was at this point that the 25-year-old, turning to the man, convinced him to hand over the bag by telling him that his wife needed it and from whom he then stole the cell phone.
Following the complaint filed by the victim and based on the description provided, the Carabinieri of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Station were able to locate and identify the woman who, at that moment, had sold the stolen telephone to an electronics dealer for €32, making him believe that the telephone was his property.
Once recovered, the cell phone was then returned to its rightful owner.
The 25-year-old, on the other hand, was reported for theft by sleight of hand.
