The Carabinieri of the Operational Section of the Company Castellammare di Stabia, assisted by soldiers from the Campania Regiment and the Canine Unit, arrested a 21-year-old local man, Emanuele Raffone, already known to the police, for illegal possession of explosive material.
During a house search, the Carabinieri found a highly dangerous explosive device, consisting of a plastic canister tied with tape to a homemade bomb, for a total weight of 1 kilo and 200 grams.
The timely intervention of the Bomb Squad of the Naples Provincial Command was necessary to secure the area and neutralize the device in a safe location.
The arrest and the investigations
Emanuele Raffone was arrested and taken to the Naples prison. The investigation, conducted by the Carabinieri, is ongoing to reconstruct the entire incident and determine any accomplices or the motive that drove the young man to build such a dangerous device.
