Luigi Carrino: “The Space Young Hub, strongly supported by the Campania Aerospace District, is a concrete example of how innovation and training can converge to create new job opportunities and stimulate youth entrepreneurial growth in the area”.
Tomorrow, Friday 3 May, at 16.00:5 pm, the inauguration and ribbon cutting of the “Space Young Hub” will be held at the Auditorium of the Francesco Severi Scientific High School in Castellammare di Stabia (NA), in Viale Libero D'Orsi n. XNUMX, the first Italian Hub for Start Ups of young students in the space sector.
The Space Young Hub is part of the activities of the larger “SPACE VILLAGE” project, conceived by the start-up Vacanze Spaziali in collaboration with the Campania Aerospace District – DAC, Intesa SanPaolo, the companies Space Factory, ALI SpA, Marscenter and the patronage of the Italian Space Agency – ASI.
The SPACE VILLAGE Project has the main objective of bringing secondary school students closer to the world of space technologies, and more generally to innovation, creating a tutoring path for the launch of new "young" start-ups and a growth process for youth enterprises.
Representatives of the scientific and institutional world will be present at the event: Diana Carosella, Technical Coordinator of the “Stabia Space Village” Network Agreement; Elena Cavaliere, Headmaster of the “F. Severi” Scientific High School in Castellammare di Stabia; Mariafelicia De Laurentis, Astrophysicist; Valeria Fascione, Councilor for Research, Innovation and Start Up of the Campania Region; Paola Frassinetti, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Merit; Roberto Vittori, Astronaut of the European Space Agency.
Valeria Fascione, Councilor for Research, Innovation and Startups of the Campania Region: “The Space Economy represents one of the most interesting development trajectories of the global economy, with a supply chain that starts from research and development to infrastructures and the creation of enabling solutions from environmental monitoring, to the testing of new drugs up to the launch of satellites. Campania expresses a significant wealth of knowledge and businesses that attest it among the most active regions in the sector, thanks also to the signing of protocols with ESA, ASI and ENAC to allow testing and verification of products and services. The inauguration of the “Space Young Hub”, the first in Italy for the promotion of startups operating in the Space Economy, is an important piece of our positioning because it stimulates the creation of new youth businesses in a sector with high growth potential such as space technologies. Castellammare, a place with a great tradition of sea exploration, is thus preparing to face the new adventures of Space”.
Luigi Carrino, President of the Campania Aerospace District: “This first Italian hub dedicated to start-ups by young high school students in the space sector represents not only a springboard for the many brilliant minds of our territory, but also a tangible contribution against the flight of talent from the South. This project, strongly supported by the Campania Aerospace District, is a concrete example of how innovation and training can converge to create new job opportunities and stimulate youth entrepreneurial growth”.
