Blitz by the forestry police and ASL staff in a restaurant in Cimitile: 100 kilos of food products, mostly fish, in very poor condition, seized.

A large quantity of food products, mainly fish, was seized in a restaurant in Cimitile, in the province of Naples. The forestry carabinieri of Roccarainola, together with the staff of the ASL Napoli 3 Sud, checked the restaurant located along via Nazionale delle Puglie, finding serious hygiene-sanitary deficiencies and seizing 100 kilos of food in a very poor state of conservation or expired.
In particular, the military and the ASL operators found and seized mussels, clams and other seafood with open shells and therefore in poor condition, as well as cuttlefish and other fish products, as well as floury and frozen products that were found to be expired.
At the end of the operations, the legal representative of the company and the restaurant manager, respectively a 55-year-old man and a 51-year-old man, were reported to the competent Judicial Authority.

The seized foods were destroyed on site by an authorized company. The Carabinieri checks, aimed at verifying the traceability and correct conservation of food products and safeguarding the health of consumers, will continue in the coming days.
