UA massive territorial control operation was conducted Thursday at the Capodichino airport in Naples, involving a series of law enforcement and security agencies. Agents from the Secondigliano Police Station, the Air Border Police, the Carabinieri of the Stella Operations Unit, operators from the Guardia di Finanza and personnel from the Municipal Police joined forces to combat the phenomenon of illegal public transport.
During the extraordinary service, 35 people were identified, 9 of whom had criminal records. 20 taxis and/or NCC (Rental with Driver) were also checked, among which one was subjected to administrative seizure and three to administrative detention. The authorities contested 12 violations of the Highway Code to several taxi drivers.
These include failure to issue a receipt, abusive use of vehicles for rental with driver, lack of periodic inspection, driving with an expired license and the absence of circulation documents. The offenders were reported to the Office of Non-Scheduled Public Transport of the Municipality of Naples.
