In the last few hours, a coordinated Carabinieri operation has taken place on the islands of Ischia and Procida, leading to a series of tight checks in port areas and nightlife hubs, now crowded with both tourists and residents. The operations resulted in numerous disciplinary measures, including the filing of a report against a 44-year-old man from Caserta, who was caught driving under the influence.
The man, stopped by the Carabinieri while driving on the streets of Ischia, was found to have a blood alcohol level almost three times the legal limit, reaching 3 g/l. As a result, his license was withdrawn and his vehicle was seized. During the operations, six young people were also identified in possession of small quantities of narcotics.
Although no severe penal measures were taken, these individuals were administratively sanctioned and reported to the local Prefecture. Another significant case concerns a 25-year-old from Procida, who declared himself the manager of a bed and breakfast without having the necessary authorizations.
His illegal business, active since 2022, is now at the center of an in-depth investigation that led to his complaint for illegal practice of the profession. In Forio, attention has also shifted to a commercial business, where the owner of a bar was fined for not having respected the rules of the HACCP manual, essential for the correct hygienic-sanitary management of food.
