In the last few hours, a coordinated operation by the Carabinieri has taken hold on the islands of Ischia and Procida, leading to a series of tight controls in the port areas and nightlife centers, now crowded with both tourists and residents. The operations have resulted in numerous disciplinary measures, including the complaint of a 44-year-old man, originally from Caserta, caught driving under the influence of alcohol.
The man, stopped by the Carabinieri while driving on the streets of Ischia, was found to have a blood alcohol level almost three times the legal limit, reaching 3 g/l. As a result, his license was withdrawn and his vehicle was seized. During the operations, six young people were also identified in possession of small quantities of narcotics.
Although no severe penal measures were taken, these individuals were administratively sanctioned and reported to the local Prefecture. Another significant case concerns a 25-year-old from Procida, who declared himself the manager of a bed and breakfast without having the necessary authorizations.
His illegal business, active since 2022, is now at the center of an in-depth investigation that led to his complaint for illegal practice of the profession. In Forio, attention has also shifted to a commercial business, where the owner of a bar was fined for not having respected the rules of the HACCP manual, essential for the correct hygienic-sanitary management of food.
