There is a blood emergency for a child from Benevento currently hospitalized Santobono Pausilipon, in the Via Posillipo branch of Pausilipon in Naples. He urgently needs blood transfusions of “0 Negative” or “A Negative”, two blood groups that are unfortunately very rare and not easy to find.
Europa Verde and La Radiazza, for this reason, launch the appeal to go to the Pausilipon transfusion center to make a blood donation.
“Come in large numbers, it is very important even if you have other blood types because in any case there is always a need for blood”, declares the deputy of the Green-Sinistra alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli who will personally donate blood (Borrelli is a regular donor) on Friday 17 May with other citizens at 11,30 at Pausillipon.
“In Campania we don’t make a good impression with donations, our blood banks are constantly empty and almost empty and we are dependent on other regions for blood supplies. If people donated regularly, and not only when urgent appeals were made, emergencies wouldn’t arise.
We must remember that the person who needs blood could also be a family member, a friend, a loved one, or ourselves, and for this reason this dutiful act of love and altruism must be performed.
On the other hand, losing 15-20 minutes of our time, receiving in exchange also free breakfast and blood tests, is not such a big effort. In addition, before the blood draw, a general health check is done with a relative free visit that is always useful to do.”
