Scenes of violence last night in Galleria Principe in Naples, when officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid intervened following a report of a man who had been stabbed. The rapid intervention of the police led to the identification of the alleged attacker by an eyewitness.
The suspect was already known to the police, a 33-year-old man from Burkina Faso, without proper documentation on Italian territory and with a criminal record. After a fight with the officers, the suspect was arrested on charges of personal injury and resisting a public official.
He was also charged with assault and violating an expulsion order. The victim of the attack, a 32-year-old Nigerian citizen, was taken to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment, while the arrested man was taken to the police station for further investigation and to answer for his actions before the law.
