The sons of the famous pizza chef Ernesto Cacialli, known for having served the “pizza a portafoglio” to the former US President Bill Clinton during the G7 in Napoli, have distanced themselves from those recently arrested in an anti-money laundering investigation conducted by the Guardia di Finanza and the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate.
The pizzeria “Dal Presidente”, which belonged to the late Ernesto Cacialli, has been seized by the authorities. However, Cacialli’s children, Maria (“the President’s daughter”) and Luigi (“the President’s son”), stress that they have no connection with the company involved in the investigation and its managers.
“They are the owners of the pizzerias located on Via del Grande Archivio and Via Duomo in Naples,” said attorney Francesco Musella, who represents the Cacialli family. “They are both sons and heirs of the late Ernesto Cacialli, known in the pizza world as ‘The President.’”
According to attorney Musella, this clarification is necessary due to the uproar on social media that has targeted Cacialli's children following the confusion generated by the improper use of the trademark "Il Presidente" by unauthorized third parties.
