The Carabinieri of the Company of Capua they foiled a theft in progress at the “Luigi Settembrini” State School in Pontelatone and recovered the stolen goods, consisting of laptops, tablets and rack cabinets.
It was 2:00 this morning when a call to 112 reported suspicious noises coming from the school. The Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus intervened promptly and caught the thieves red-handed. The criminals, at the sight of the military, fled on board a Wolkswagen T-Roc car, which the Carabinieri were unable to intercept.
Outside the institute, the Carabinieri found the stolen goods that the thieves had not managed to load into the car: 48 laptops, 50 tablets and 4 rack cabinets, for a total value of approximately 30.000 euros. The teaching material had been stolen from the school's computer room after the main door was broken into.
This morning the recovered computer material was returned to the school principal. The Carabinieri are investigating to identify the fugitives.
