From 4 to 31 May, events, tourist walks and initiatives to learn about and enhance the symbolic places and rediscover the historical ones of the Pizzofalcone hill: events from Monte Echia to Piazza del Plebiscito, with local associations in the field
First edition of Maggio di Pizzofalcone, walks to discover the territory, conceived and organized by the Municipality I of the City of Naples with the contribution of the Department of Tourism and Productive Activities.
A packed schedule of events from May 4th to 31st, which aims to enhance the symbolic places of Pizzofalcone hill but also guide citizens and tourists to rediscover hidden treasures. A month of events in some of the most beautiful places in the city, above all Monte Echia and Piazza del Plebiscito.

It also showcases the commitment of its community, which on this occasion has willingly devoted its best efforts to accompany Neapolitans and tourists in discovering a marvelous hill and a key piece of our city's history."
Giovanna Mazzone, President of Municipality I: "With the closure of construction sites and the upcoming opening of Metro Line 6 and the Pizzofalcone elevator, the hill is becoming one of Naples's top tourist destinations: the time has finally come to restore its strength and dignity. The work we, as an administration, are carrying out is the redevelopment of key areas such as Molosiglio, the Chiaia steps, and Via Gennaro Serra, with a view to further enhancing the sites where Partenope arose. Our mission is to restore beauty and charm, a goal we intend to achieve with the participation of the vibrant communities that so richly enrich our region."
The packed program of events, illustrated by Benedetta Sciannimanica, Councilor for Tourism and Culture of Municipality I, who conceived and curated the event with the support of the Tourism Commission chaired by Eugenio Tremante and Councilor Martina Pugliese. It starts with the tourist itineraries: the archaeological walks “Nel Ventre di Parthenope” organized by the Archeoclub d'Italia on May 11, 19 and 26. Local kids are the protagonists on Thursday 16 with the walk “Tanto ho le Cuffie”, itineraries among the events of neighborhood teenagers who shared their life stories, from the project of Prof. Fabiana Sciarelli. On May 17 and 18, we go to discover the Nunziatella Military School and the annexed Church, a rare jewel of Neapolitan Baroque art dedicated to the Annunziata, open exclusively for the Maggio di Pizzofalcone.
The churches are also open for the art and faith itineraries in the Egyptian parish in Pizzofalcone, with the choir of the Piccoli Cantori di Pizzofalcone that will enliven the events of May 4 and 26. On Sunday 5 in the Basilica of San Marco di Palazzo in Piazza Santa Maria degli Angeli in Pizzofalcone the young people of the “Pietre Vive” community will guide the curious to discover the theological and spiritual meaning of the works that adorn the basilica. Another event at the Arciconfraternita Santa Maria delle Grazie in Catena on the 16th, with a meeting on the theme of urban regeneration and a visit to the church and the tomb of Admiral Francesco Caracciolo.
The Fantasie d'Epoca association will be in Piazza del Plebiscito on Sunday 12 May with a travelling Pulcinella who will interact with the Statues of the Kings. On the 17th, again, on Mount Echia with a journey into superstition.
It will also be a month to discover wonderful places of culture such as Musap – Fondazione “Circolo Artistico Politecnico” at Palazzo Zapata, “which adheres to #domenicalmuseo and which has organized among other things the event “LEONaltro, tutto ciò che non sai sul genio Di Vinci”, to reveal the secrets of the author of the Gioconda 505 years after his death. Furthermore, on the 11th and 12th the Archivio Fotografico Parisio reopens under the porticoes of Piazza del Plebiscito, making available to visitors the enormous amount of material on the evolution of the social, cultural and urban history of the city of Naples and Campania”.
The Palizzi high school opens the doors of the MAI (Museo Artistico Industriale), which was wanted by Gaetano Filangieri prince of Satriano, and other events animated by the students of the choreutic. Among the cultural places opened for the occasion, the Mondragone Foundation opens the Fashion Museum in Piazzetta Mondragone on May 23.
Among the events, Saturday 8 May, at the Italian Institute for Philosophical Studies, the conference “Serra di Cassano: a palace, a family, history”, a journey into the history of Palazzo Serra di Cassano. At the same venue, from Thursday 23 to Saturday 25, the fifth edition of “Montedidio Racconta”, a cultural event that aims to enhance and “story” the Pizzofalcone hill, conceived and curated by Laura Cocozza’s Iuppiter Group. The artistic direction of the event is entrusted to Marco Panico of the Teatro Summarte.
