Liberation Day brought with it news of renewal for Naples: the Maschio Angioino, symbol of the city, has finally reopened its doors after safety works. In less than a month, the authorities have completed the necessary interventions to guarantee the safety of visitors, intervening promptly after a stone fell in front of the ticket office.
The Municipality of Naples announced the completion of the work through an official note, highlighting the importance of a rapid response to the critical issues encountered. Thanks to the use of an aerial platform, technicians were able to perform detailed checks up to 30 meters high, examining all the internal facades of the castle and removing any dangerous elements.
Among the actions undertaken, a safety net was installed on the vault of the entrance vestibule, in order to prevent the risk of falling debris and ensure the safety of visitors. Over one hundred small pieces of piperno, white marble, tuff and bricks were removed and recovered during the works.
The interventions, coordinated by the Culture service and carried out by the technicians of Napoli Servizi, were completed on the eve of April 25, making the Maschio Angioino accessible to the public again. This reopening is particularly significant considering the influx of tourists and visitors who continue to frequent the city even in this period.
