The investigating judge of NAPLES Antonio Baldassarre has validated the arrest warrant and issued a precautionary prison order for 73-year-old Gennaro Petrucci, husband of anti-racketeering entrepreneur Silvana Fucito, accused of being the instigator of the murder of engineer Salvatore Coppola, killed with a gunshot to the back of the head in the San Giovanni a Teduccio neighborhood of NAPLES, last March 12.
The measure against Petrucci arises from investigations by the Gico of the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of NAPLES and the Flying Squad of the NAPLES Police Headquarters, which, coordinated by the DDA (PM Sergio Raimondi, Simona Rossi and Maria Sepe) have allowed the motive for the murder to be attributed to a real estate dispute regarding a thousand square meter villa in Portici (NAPLES).
The villa, with a large garden and swimming pool, was seized in April 2014 by the Guardia di Finanza from “Effepi Fp Srl”, a company owned by Silvana Fucito, Petrucci's wife and former president of the association “San Giovanni a Teduccio per la legalità”, as part of an investigation into tax fraud. In May 2015, an expropriation and sale procedure was started for the property, which was bought on 12 October 2021 by a company from San Giorgio a Cremano, an award contested by Petrucci and Fucito who claimed that behind the company from San Giorgio a Cremano was 56-year-old Salvatore Abbate, with a criminal record for money laundering and fictitious registration in favour of various Camorra clans including the Mazzarellas.
According to the couple's complaint, during an inspection of the property at auction, Abbate was accompanied by Salvatore Coppola. According to investigators, this was the reason for Petrucci's resentment towards Coppola, which led him to hire 64-year-old Mario De Simone to carry out the crime in exchange for 20 euros, as investigators claim based on some wiretaps.
