An entrepreneur of Pianura victim of a loan shark to whom he was forced to turn during the pandemic, he finally found the courage and strength to report him and had him arrested. His story was made public thanks to his complaint to the Carabinieri, which led to the arrest of a 40-year-old.
The man, burdened by increasing expenses and a decline in business during the Covid period, found himself forced to ask for a loan from a loan shark to cope with his financial difficulties. The first loan of a thousand euros, obtained at a rate of 40%, started a vortex of debts and interests that has never stopped.
Despite regular payments of loans and interest, the victim found himself having to ask for more money, falling more and more into the clutches of the loan shark. In three years, for an actual loan of 5.700 euros, the entrepreneur had to shell out over 26.000 euros.
Exhausted and burdened by the weight of the debt, the victim decided to report everything to the Carabinieri of the Pianura station. The military, after listening to his story, planned an operation to catch the loan shark red-handed.
The opportunity came during the payment of a monthly installment. The entrepreneur, with the Carabinieri stationed nearby, handed over the sum of money to 40-year-old Francesco Bardario. At the end of the exchange, the military intervened, arresting the loan shark.
Over 50.000 euros in cash were found in his home. Bardario is now in prison awaiting trial.
