The Milan Public Prosecutor's Office has requested the trial of Daniela Santanchè and two other people, including the minister's partner, Dimitri Kunz, and two companies in the context of the Visibilia case, concerning the alleged aggravated fraud against INPS in the management of the redundancy fund during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The request for trial follows the conclusion of the investigations on this part of the “Visibilia package”, which arrived on March 22. The notice of conclusion of the investigations and the request for indictment involve, in addition to the senator of FdI and Minister of Tourism, also the comrade Kunz and Paolo Giuseppe Concordia, external collaborator with personnel management functions of Visibilia Editore and Visibilia Concessionaria, in addition to the two companies themselves.
According to the prosecution, Santanchè, Kunz and Concordia were aware of having requested and obtained "unduly", for a total of 13 employees, the redundancy fund "to support companies affected by the effects" of the Covid pandemic.
The prosecution accuses them of having falsely declared that those employees were on “zero-hours” redundancy pay, when in fact they were carrying out their duties in “smart working”. Furthermore, it is claimed that the supplements would have been given to compensate for the lower income from the redundancy pay compared to that of the salary, corresponding a “difference” with “fake reimbursements for 'expense notes'”.
The request for trial is the culmination of a story that has involved Minister Santanchè in accusations of fraud and false accounting, prompting calls for her resignation from various political forces.
