The State Police has identified and reported the perpetrator of the defacement of the facade of the Royal Palace of Caserta. According to what has emerged, the perpetrator is of North African origin and committed the act of vandalism during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, using spray paint to deface the historic facade of the building.
The investigations, started immediately in collaboration with the Flying Squad, allowed to identify a young man who fled the crime scene on an electric bicycle. Thanks to the analysis of the video surveillance systems active in the Monumental Complex of the Reggia, it was possible to track down the suspect.
The young man, who had just turned 18, was identified and tracked down in the province of Caserta. He was then taken to the Police Headquarters and reported for damaging the artistic heritage, recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. The Director of the Royal Palace, Tiziana Maffei, expressed her gratitude to Police Commissioner Andrea Grassi for his immediate intervention and resolution of the case, praising the work carried out by the men and women of the State Police.
