SorrentoThe new room of the resuscitation and intensive care unit has been inaugurated in the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital in Sorrento.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the President of the Region Campania, Vincenzo De Luca, of the mayor of Sorrento, Massimo Coppola, and the general director of ASL Napoli 3 Sud, Giuseppe Russo.
The reopening, which took place about a year and a half after its closure, gave the community a completely renovated department.
The new department, located on the first floor of the hospital and directed by Matilde De Falco, has seven beds (in addition to one for admission), including one dedicated to isolation.
The organizational model includes a dedicated 24-hour medical guard, with an anesthetist and resuscitation doctor and four nurses. All beds are equipped with centralized control monitoring and cutting-edge technological equipment. A dedicated path for family visits has also been provided.
“This is an important day for our entire community,” said Mayor Coppola. “This department represents a further step forward in the quality of local public health. I am certain that the modern equipment provided, combined with the high professionalism of the health and nursing staff, will be able to guarantee the protection of the right to health of all citizens of Sorrento and the Sorrento peninsula.”
