A 21 year old young man residing in Mugnano of Naples was arrested on charges of extortion and receiving stolen goods.
The accusation is based on the fact that he allegedly asked the owner of a stolen car for the sum of 700 euros, following the method known as “return horse”, to return the vehicle. The investigation, conducted by the Carabinieri under coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, started from the complaint of the victim who refused to pay the sum requested.
The investigators analyzed the recordings of the video surveillance cameras, identifying the 21-year-old. After having collected the necessary evidence, the Prosecutor's Office requested and obtained from the judge for preliminary investigations of Naples North the issuance of a custodial order in prison against the young man.
The order was carried out by the Carabinieri of the Qualiano station.
