APoliceman's attacker arrested in Lambrate: a criminal and an irregular in Italy for over 20 years. Hasan Hamis, the 37-year-old Moroccan accused of the attempted murder of a police vice-inspector in Lambrate: the deputy chief inspector Christian Di Martino, 35 years old.
The officer had arrived on the scene to stop his attacker who was throwing stones at the trains, injuring among other things a 55-year-old woman who was taken to the Fatebenefratelli hospital for medical checks.
Investigations by the Milan Police Headquarters revealed that Hamis has a criminal record for aggravated robbery, theft, personal injury, drugs and kidnapping.
He had already been arrested and photographed in Italy in 2002 in Naples, and since then he has remained in the country as an irregular.
Despite two expulsion orders issued by the prefects of Naples (2004 and 2012) and Avellino (July 2023), Hamis has never left Italian territory.
The man had been tracked down and checked mainly in Campania, where he served several sentences for drug and property crimes between 2013 and 2020.
In 2021, the Immigration Office of the Avellino Police Headquarters had started the identification procedures at the Moroccan Consulate, but without a positive outcome due to the lack of cooperation of the Moroccan diplomatic authority.
On May 5, Hamis was reported for resisting a public official by Bologna Railway Police officers.
