Two precious events between theater, music, figurative and literature. Two events during which the common aspects of French and Neapolitan culture will be combined and highlighted, by virtue of ancient but also current and constant exchanges between the two artistic doctrines. At the invitation of the French Consul in Naples, Lise Moutou Malaya, ICRA Project will participate in the prestigious Franco-Neapolitan week.
On May 22nd at 15:30 pm, at Dumas Room at the French Institute Le Grenoble in via Crispi, Naples, ICRA Project will propose a Commedia dell'Arte Workshop entitled: Pulcinella, Scaramouche and Molière's Apprenticeship, curated by Michele Monetta. The meeting, with the help of masks, engravings and readings, will be aimed at students and teachers and will focus on the close relationship between Italian and French theatre, which had as its main vector the intense activity of Italian comedians (the first great masters of theatre) in France and then throughout Europe starting from the end of the 500th century;
The second appointment is set for May 24th at 19.30 pm, again at Dumas Room, with the theatrical concert Grand Tour in Naples, with readings, dialogues, music and songs that designate Naples as an important and essential point of reference for the Grand Tour precisely (the famous Journey to Italy) of artists, scholars, poets and intellectuals such as Goethe, Stendhal, Mozart, Shelley, Wilde and many others from various places in Europe starting from the 700th century up to the 800th century.
Music and songs by prestigious names will be proposed: Saverio Mercadante, Gaetano Donizetti, Raffaele Calace, Paolo Tosti, Pasquale Costa, Giovanni Paisiello, G. Louis Cottrau, Salvatore Di Giacomo, Gabriele d'Annunzio. The interpreters of the theatrical concert will be Lina Salvatore, Michele Monetta, Lorenzo Marino and Gabriele Bacco.
Both events will be free of charge until all seats are taken. The two events are organized by ICRA Project, a center directed by Michele Monetta and Lina Salvatore – as part of the project “Actors are born, but they become”, recognized by the MiC Ministry of Culture and the Campania Region.
