And this morning the staff of the Central Investigative Unit of the Penitentiary Police executed a precautionary order applying personal restrictive measures against two people deemed responsible, in conjunction with each other, for the corruption of a public service employee, receiving stolen goods and unauthorized access to communication devices by prisoners.
The precautionary measure arises from a complex investigative activity, also carried out through technical activities, directed by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere and conducted by the Central Investigative Unit of the Penitentiary Police and the Penitentiary Police of Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
The contested facts date back to the years 2022 and 2023
The investigations, still ongoing, have made it possible to ascertain that, between 2022 and 2023, a prisoner convicted of murder at the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, in collaboration with his sister, bribed a public service official to obtain favors within the prison.
In particular, the prisoner and his sister they allegedly gave money and other benefits to the public service officer so that he would perform acts contrary to his duties of service in favor of the prisoner. The public service officer, among other things, would have agreed to intercede with various officials of the District Prison to favor a privileged treatment for the prisoner.
