“Stillafest”. This is the title of the first National Festival of Science, Environment and Philosophy of Water that will take place in the suggestive site of the Pertosa-Auletta Caves, in the Salerno area, on 7, 8 and 9 June 2024, with a preview on 31 May. A cultural, environmental, historical and scientific event, entirely dedicated to the theme of water and which will see the presence of technicians, experts, university professors and representatives of the Institutions discuss and discuss the future of the planet, immersed in the great beauty of the Pertosa-Auletta Caves, with conferences, talks, teaching, lectio, performances, exhibitions and guided tours.
The event, which enjoys the patronage of the Campania Region, the Province of Salerno, the Municipality of Pertosa, the Mida Foundation, the Association of Italian Tourist Caves, the Cilento-Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, the Il Cervene Foundation and the University of Salerno, Legambiente Campania, the Vallo di Diano Mountain Community, the Alto Medio Sele and Tanagro Mountain Community, the Foce Sele-Tanagro and Monti Eremita Marzano Nature Reserve Authority, the Italian River Requalification Center, the Youth Forum of the Campania Region, the Italian Association of Oceanology and Limnology and Assofrantoi Campania, is organized by the non-profit association Stilla ETS, active in the enhancement, protection and promotion of the territory, and will see the municipality of Tanagro, located in the heart of the Cilento Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, at the center of national conferences and debates.
"The drop that loves the rock” is the title of the event of the first edition of Stillafest, which will see experts, scholars and students, in conferences, debates but also in educational workshops and artistic performances, address the issue concerning the use and management of the very precious water resource to which the very survival of the ecosystem and therefore of life on earth is linked.
The preview of the Festival, which will be held on May 31st, will have the title "School Edition" and includes educational workshops, scientific experiments, guided tours of archaeological sites, guided tours of museums and musical speeches dedicated to students and will end with a theatrical monologue by the artist Roberto Mercadini who will be on stage with a "Writing on water" while the evening will close with a sustainable and anti-waste dinner with typical local products at km0.
Environment, history, music, painting, dance, poetry, cinema and theater but also philosophy with the analysis of that mysterious bond that unites man to water that becomes a symbol of transformation, change, rebirth, candor and clarity. So many themes and food for thought but also a full immersion in the beauty of the Pertosa-Auletta Caves, the Speleo-Archaeological Museum and the Soil Museum of Pertosa, the Hydroelectric Power Plant of Pertosa and the Paleochristian Baptistery of San Giovanni in Fonti in Padula, which can be visited during the three days of the festival. The Festival will get into full swing on June 7 and for three days, until June 9, will see conferences, talks, workshops, theatrical and artistic performances and concerts with internationally renowned artists and there will also be space dedicated to the performances of local musicians who will present their unpublished compositions and music written for the Stilla Festival together with DJ sets inspired by the theme "Water Vibes".
