Nyesterday afternoon, the officers of the Police Station of Pianura they intervened in via Filomena Nitti Bovet following a report regarding a scam against an elderly woman.
A person, pretending to be a lawyer, had contacted the elderly woman by telephone, asking her for a large sum of money and some gold jewellery that the woman was supposed to deliver to an assistant, who would soon arrive at her home.
The money, according to what was said on the phone, was supposed to be used by the old woman's son to cover the costs of an accident.
The elderly woman's son, who was present at the time of the call, immediately contacted the police. The officers, who promptly arrived on the scene, found the scammer outside the house, just as she was taking delivery of the envelope containing the requested amount.
For these reasons, a 19-year-old Neapolitan girl was arrested for aggravated fraud.
