An American tourist was tracked down and reported by the State Police after stealing a bracelet from a well-known boutique on the island.
The woman, after purchasing another item, took advantage of a moment of distraction by the sales assistant to slip a brass bracelet worth 500 euros into her bag and walk away.
Thanks to the images from the video surveillance cameras, the officers of the Police Station Capri they managed to trace the identity of the thief, who had paid with the "tax free" system leaving her personal details.
Tracked down at her accommodation facility, the tourist was found in possession of the stolen bracelet and reported to the Judicial Authority for theft with dexterity. The jewel was then returned to its rightful owner.
