“Last night a vile act of vandalism hit the Royal Palace of Caserta: someone daubed paint on the walls of the facade of the Royal Palace.
What happened is unacceptable: this unspeakable act has struck an icon of our beauty and a site that UNESCO has recognized as a World Heritage Site. I hope that the police will be able to identify those responsible as soon as possible and that they will be sanctioned with absolute firmness.
Thanks to the law that I strongly supported, moreover, the vandals will have to pay for the restoration work out of their own pockets”. The Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, said this.
In the meantime, investigations have begun to trace the identity of the wicked perpetrators. The police have viewed the images from the video surveillance cameras and are now on the trail of those who committed the despicable act.
