Naples. Yesterday morning, a team from the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid of the Naples Police Headquarters arrested a 16-year-old Neapolitan after a daring car chase and a fight in Piazza Coppola.

It all started when the officers, during a routine territorial control service in via Costantino Grimaldi, noticed two people on board a car. The driver, at the sight of the Police, attempted to elude the control by hastily fleeing.
A long chase ensued through the city streets during which the driver performed dangerous maneuvers for traffic, putting the safety of pedestrians and motorists at risk. The chase ended in Piazza Coppola where the car, after hitting a sidewalk, stopped.
The arrest and the complaint
The two occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee on foot, but the officers, with the help of a patrol from the Poggioreale Police Station, caught up with them and stopped them after a struggle.
During the search, the police found in their possession a replica Police model pistol and 3 screwdrivers.
The 16-year-old was arrested for assault and resistance to a Public Official, while the passenger was reported for the same crimes. In addition, the 16-year-old was charged with the crime of carrying weapons or objects capable of causing offence.
Finally, both subjects were charged with violations of the Highway Code for lack of insurance coverage and driving without a license.
