A heartfelt and passionate tribute to the legendary Neapolitan singer-songwriter Pino Daniele. This is the essence of "Il Cielo è Pieno di Stelle," the new album by Fabrizio Bosso and Julian Oliver Mazzariello, available today on CD and digitally from Warner Music.
Bosso's trumpet and Mazzariello's piano bring a new dimension to Pino Daniele's masterpieces, offering a musical journey through jazz and the timeless emotions of the Neapolitan artist. The duo will present the album on an Italian tour beginning June 29th at the Baita dei Motti in Domodossola (VB).
The bond between Pino Daniele and the musicians
Fabrizio Bosso tells how music and pPino Daniele's philosophy has influenced generations of musicians, including himself. "There's never a note out of place in his melodies, and there's not just blues, rock, or funk, but also a lot of jazz. We've all sung Pino Daniele's songs at some point in our lives." says the trumpeter.

The contents of the album
"Il Cielo è Pieno di Stelle" includes a selection of Pino Daniele's iconic songs, from the ever-present "Napule è" to "Je so' pazzo," "Quanno chiove," "Quando," and two 1993 gems, "Allora sì" and "Sicily." The latter track was originally recorded with American jazz musician Chick Corea, who composed the music, to which Daniele added the lyrics, making the song a true musical gem. Each track represents a journey into Pino Daniele's musical universe, enriched by the jazz sensibilities of Bosso and Mazzariello.
A special dedication
The album is dedicated to the journalist and music critic Ernesto Assante, who passed away a few months ago. In July 2022, Assante invited Bosso and Mazzariello to perform this tribute to Pino Daniele live for the first time at a music festival he curated at the MAXXI Museum in Rome. From that evening, which closes the album with the track "Se mi vuoi," the live project "Il Cielo è Pieno di Stelle" was born. The success of the concerts, held both in Italy and abroad, led to the album's recording at the historic Splash Recording Studio in Naples last April.
