Contracts awarded without a tender and without financial coverage in exchange for votes in the Campania regional elections in September 2020. Emanuele Aufiero and his brother Antonio, at the time of the events mayor and president of the municipal council of Pratola Serra, in the province of Avellino among the 19 investigated by the Public Prosecutors of Naples and Avellino who proceeded with the notification of the conclusion of the investigations entrusted to the Carabinieri of the Compagni di Mirabella Eclano.
The investigations uncovered significant evidence of "possibly corrupt agreements" made by the two former administrators. The municipality of Pratola Serra was dissolved by presidential decree, at the proposal of the Interior Minister, in October 2020 due to Camorra infiltration.
