Arzano. Illegal posts and flower boxes in via Taormina and via Rimini: a city without controls. The reports of citizens and passers-by were not enough to put a stop and restore legality in Arzano.
In via Taormina (pictured), according to residents, there is such impunity that some condominiums have installed metal poles on the public road, on the carriageway. Many of the poles even have concrete poured to fix them to the roadway.
While in via Rimini (pictured), even in this case, the flowerpots and vases are still on display. But all this happens all over the city with the local police force that is understaffed and despite the three new hires, is unable to provide concrete answers to eradicate the sad phenomenon.
Even in via Pecchia and via L. Rocco, greengrocers and hardware stores display their goods on the sidewalks and some occupy the road with trolleys and chairs to prevent cars from parking.

In addition to wild stakes and flowerbeds, wild chairs are also rampant
“Whoever is responsible should start an inspection of the many commercial activities that occupy public spaces on the sidewalks and streets of the city, checking whether they obstruct the passage of pedestrians on the sidewalks or prevent them from parcheggio on the edge of the road”, specifies AL a resident.
“We must urgently intervene on these serious violations that impact the liveability of our streets, which imply a transformation of public spaces into real private property.”
Francesco Nardelli
