Arzano. Unfaithful traffic warden: we are heading towards the statute of limitations. The municipality accepts the request to postpone the trial.
The hearing was held in recent days in which the traffic warden RM, who ended up in prison in 2017 and was subsequently also hit by the obligation to reside outside the province of Naples for having been guilty of the crime of threatening a municipal technician to induce him to change the relationship in favor of her mother, was in the dock.
In a surprise move, before the panel of the Court of Appeal of Naples where the case had returned from the Court of Cassation in acceptance of the reasons according to which the traffic police of Arzano notified the hearing notices to the non-cohabiting sister instead of to the defendant.
The Municipality, accepting the request of the lawyers of theagent, accepted the request to postpone the hearing until November 11, to the dismay of the court and effectively causing the statute of limitations for the crimes attributed to her to be reached.
The agent also ended up on trial for the crimes of attempted corruption and threats to a public official - a municipal technician - aimed at forcing him to commit false acts to facilitate the building abuses committed by the latter's mother.
In the first hearing, held before Judge Ferraro of the Court of Naples North, the testimony of the key witness of the investigation weighed like a millstone. Then it will be the turn of the two witnesses (a policeman and a lawyer) who witnessed the threats even addressed to the same prosecution witness outside the Court before the hearing.
In short, a new judicial blow for the municipality of Arzano which will have to decide on the fate of the traffic warden who, among other things, has also been defeated in the civil proceedings but who has nevertheless repeatedly resubmitted requests to be reinstated in service at the local police command, even, according to rumours, presenting a defence brief to the Secretary General of the body which has currently been rejected by the official Francesco Battaglia himself.
