The remediation work at the former Italsider plant in Bagnoli represents a great opportunity not only to redevelop a vital area for Naples, but also to provide concrete employment opportunities for local residents. This was emphasized in a statement from the City of Naples.
This morning, the first of two days dedicated to profiling aspiring workers, technicians, and administrative staff who will be recruited thanks to the social clauses included in the tenders issued by the Municipality of Naples and the Government Commissioner for Environmental Remediation and Urban Regeneration of the Bagnoli -Coroglio area, was held at the Porta del Parco Auditorium. Attendance was significant, with many residents attending to seize this opportunity. The initiative will be repeated on Monday, July 1st, again at the Porta del Parco Auditorium, at 10:00 a.m.
"The agreement signed with the Bagnoli Commissioner's Office and the City of Naples stipulates that the companies responsible for the cleanup will hire young people and other local residents ," explained Labor Councilor Chiara Marciani. "We organized these meetings in collaboration with the employment agencies, which are recruiting for the various positions offered by the companies. We hope this initiative will represent a significant opportunity, not only for the companies involved in the cleanup work that will revitalize the Bagnoli area, but also for the many people who will be interviewing today and next Monday."
