Eight people have been arrested, two of whom have been placed under house arrest, following an investigation conducted by the Benevento Prosecutor's Office. They are seriously suspected of criminal conspiracy, aggravated theft, residential burglary, receiving stolen goods, feigning a crime, and forgery.

The restrictive measure was issued by the investigating judge of the Benevento Court at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, headed by Aldo Policastro, following in-depth investigations conducted by the Carabinieri. The investigations revealed the existence of a criminal organization composed of foreign individuals from the Roma camps of Giugliano in Campania and Naples Secondigliano.

This group was responsible for numerous thefts in bars/tobacconists, commercial establishments and homes, using vehicles registered fictitiously to third parties and equipped with altered or stolen license plates. "Serious evidence of guilt has also been acquired against Italian individuals who were part of the gang," we read in a note from the prosecutor Policastro.

These individuals, car dealership managers, allegedly supplied the criminal group with the vehicles needed to commit the crimes, also facilitating the search for fictitious owners. The meticulous investigations dismantled a well-structured organization dedicated to committing numerous crimes, revealing a worrying connection between local criminals and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
