Benevento is a candidate to become the Italian Book Capital for 2025. The mayor of Benevento, Clemente Mastella, announced this the day after the evening that elected the “sixth” of the 2024 Strega Prize.
“Once again, the beauty of Benevento and its extraordinary appeal have had a national showcase,” he declares Mastella. “The city’s brand has made the rounds of national and international media. The evening that elected the 'sext' of the 2024 Strega Prize was splendid and organized with elegant attention to every detail.
We thank the Bellonci Foundation, the Alberti family, and the host Stefano Coletta for having spent words of praise towards the city and the writers during the live streaming on Rai. As I reiterated at the Teatro Romano yesterday evening, writers remain an essential element of wealth for democracy”; Mastella explained again.
And then he added: “Benevento is a city of culture and now we are aiming with determination at another ambitious goal: to become the Italian Book Capital for 2025”.
