Brusciano. Yesterday afternoon, officers from the Acerra Police Station, together with personnel from the Customs and Monopolies Agency, carried out an inspection at a commercial establishment in Brusciano.
During the inspection, the officers discovered that some of the computer equipment present in the premises was used for the illegal collection of bets. The owners of the business used gaming accounts registered to third parties to collect bets from customers, carrying out an illegitimate intermediation.
The officers found several gambling receipts linked to two online accounts, as well as cash amounting to 1260 euros.
For these reasons, the manager and the owner of the business were reported to the Judicial Authority for the illegal exercise of gaming and betting activities. Furthermore, the premises were seized.
The commitment against illegal gambling
Yesterday's operation is part of the fight against illegal gambling, which is a phenomenon harmful to public safety and the legal economy. Law enforcement will continue to monitor this type of illegal activity and protect citizens.
