A mother, who went to school to pick up her daughter who was playing sports in the building's gym, found herself face to face with a three-meter-long snake.
The woman, terrified by the unexpected encounter, remained calm and moved away from the reptile without triggering its reaction. Immediately after, she warned and alerted instructors, students and the staff of the institute.
Fortunately, the animal then disappeared into the green area surrounding the complex, without endangering anyone present.
The episode, although without consequences, has turned the spotlight on the degradation and abandonment in which some schools of the Neapolitan area, where young people carry out their activities in contexts that are decidedly far from the idea of civil living that should be typical of an advanced city.
The episode raises several questions:
How was it possible for a snake of this size to enter the school building?
What safety measures does the school have in place to ensure the safety of students?
Who is responsible for keeping the green areas surrounding schools in order and maintaining them?
The students' families are asking for answers and concrete interventions to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
The Caivano incident is a warning not to underestimate the problem of environmental degradation and safety in schools, especially those located in risk areas. The protection of children and young people must be an absolute priority, and the competent institutions must do their part to guarantee them safe and healthy school environments.
