Until October 15th, the period of serious danger for forest fires is in force in Campania. The Region has issued several provisions to protect the forest heritage:
What is prohibited:
Light open fires in woods and within 100 metres of them, even in pastures.
Burning of plant, agricultural and forestry waste.
Burn stubble and weeds, even uncultivated ones.
Light fireworks, launch rockets and sky lanterns within 1 km of woods and pastures (except where otherwise provided).
Using motors or stoves that produce embers or sparks, flame or electric appliances to cut metal, detonate mines, smoke or perform actions that could cause fires in forests and pastures.
Parking motor vehicles on unpaved roads within wooded areas (except for service vehicles and agricultural vehicles).
What is required of Municipalities:
Strengthen reconnaissance, surveillance, sighting and warning activities for forest fires.
Raise awareness among citizens, farmers and ranchers on fire prevention.
Establish and update the register of fire-affected areas.
Draft and update the civil protection plan against forest fires.
Civil Protection invites everyone to collaborate to prevent forest fires and protect our environment.
In case of sighting of a forest fire, immediately contact the toll-free number 112
