Naples prepares for a possible eruption of the Campi Flegrei supervolcano with new escape routes and evacuation drills.
The Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, underlined the importance of perfecting the evacuation system, defining it "an absolute priority."
At a recent meeting of the Order and Safety Committee, the Prefect announced the imminent execution of evacuation drills. The goal is to test the plan and raise public awareness of the emergency situation.
Di Bari expressed optimism about the upcoming national decree for the Campi Flegrei, recognizing the complexity of such a measure but trusting in the Government's will to achieve this objective as soon as possible.

In addition to the new escape routes and evacuation drills, the Prefect insisted on the need for correct information and communication to citizens.
"We must push for these activities to be repeated more and more often.", he has declared, "because citizens must be fully aware of the general situation."
