Capri. With summer approaching and the increase in tourist traffic, the Carabinieri of the Sorrento branch, acting on orders from the Naples Provincial Command, have intensified patrols on the island and along the coast.
Road patrols, patrol boats and helicopters fly over the territory to ensure safety both at sea and on land.
Particular one arrest made: a 25-year-old woman from Anacapri was arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing. The woman, pregnant, was found riding an electric bike with 8 doses of cocaine hidden in a receipt.

Bike patrols to reach the most inaccessible areas: The use of bicycles allows the Carabinieri to reach even the most remote areas of the island, where irresponsible tourism can pose safety risks, such as dangerous dives from unguarded cliffs or makeshift barbecues that could start fires.
Checks also at bars and construction sites
Two bars at Anacapri were fined for failure to comply with workplace safety regulations. Two illegal workers and an irregular video surveillance system were identified. Irregularities were also found at a construction site in Marina Grande, near the tourist port.
Checks will continue in the coming days to ensure the safety of tourists and residents on the island of Capri.
